Where is the "city center" in Guadalajara? With all the old architecture and buildings?

Also where is the university of Guadalajara located?

The university is located on Ave. Puerto Vallarta...which is a main road. this is also very close to the "centro" I have walked several time from the university to the centro. you just need to ask for the "centro historico" here you will find the church, government buildings, many museums, etc...

Why do you write "city center"?
I guess it is a wrong translation; in english you say "down town", it is the spanish "centro" or "centro de la ciudad".
When you hear or read "centro de la ciudad de Guadalajara", it is "Guadalajara's down town" in english.

So, the "city center" is in the downtown.
