How safe it is for Americans in Guadalajara, Mexico? If there are any links you might know, great!? |
I'm thinking of traveling there to meet a 33 year old lady that I have spoken with on the phone. Hi there. I have experience with living in Guadalajara. And I have always advised as with any other place there is always a need for caution. Personally I feel safer here than I ever did in the United States. Just remember criminals are opportunists...if anyone gives them an opportunity whether American,Mexican, or anyone else...they will take advantage of it. Hope you enjoy your trip. Guadalajara is very beautiful and has many things to see and enjoy. Whom you will have to be careful with is the 33 year old lady you have spoken with....you can never know what people are up to sometimes. I'm not so sure about Guadalajara. My family is from here and its beautiful but even we feel a little unsafe. People can tell right away who the Americans are and will not only overprice everything, but this could become a safety issue. It really depends on the places where you are going to be staying, as long as you keep in the touristical area, the business area or the downtown you'll be fine. As to the other parts, just go if you have someone that knows the place or you might get lost or robbed. I just got back from mexico two days ago and went to the guadalajara airport.I saw many americans there with a smile and no frown on their face.Personally I think it's a safe and wonderful place to visit!Hope you enjoy it! It's a very safe place to travel to. I love going there. Im actually going in there in June. If you do go you absolutely have to look into going to Zapopan, you are going to fall in love! its so pretty its in the center of the city. I usually see a lot of americans in guadalajara and all look like there having a fabulous time. i have all over mexico and honestly, guadalajara seemed like pretty much the safest. i spent a week there and wittnessed no type of crime, which is more than i can say for most places i have been |
