Has anyone here ever been to the mariachi festival in Guadalajara during september?

im just curious cause im planning on going this year even though im no longer in a mariachi group. so hows the scene over there? any info is greatly appreciated!!!!

i have, by mistake actually. it was amazing and fun and a great way to see the culture but unless you really REALLY love the music, find a hotel a few blocks away. i layed there awake every night till about four listening to mariachi blasting right out side my window

I have...!! It's amazing, and the most fun anyone could have!!
I went about 4 yrs ago to visit family over there and to attend my cousins 15a帽era. Well, there was lots of food being sold like 2 mariachis, and like 3 bands. There were also these guys with castle formed fireworks running around everywhere. At first it was scary, but then i got used to the scene!! the best part was that it was all in front of my grandma's & great-grandma's houses, so we just sat in the front yards and watched the whole thing comfortably. Also, in front of my grandmas' houses there is a plaza and that's where it all mostly took place. Like I said lots of fun!!! Please take me....lolz!!!
