I am traveling from Tijuana to Guadalajara,and i want to know the cheapest route?

I am taking a greyhound bus from sacramento, CA to tijuana, and My next destination is in guadalajara. But i am kinda stuck on how i am going to get there. I can not afford a plane, so i just wanted to know a bunch of options on how to get from tijuana to guadalajara mexico.

Take a Mexican bus line, there ought to be plenty of departures. Mexican first class buses are actually a lot better than Greyhound, usually, and if you really want comfort there are deluxe lines like ETN and UNO.

My vague recollection is that bus from texas border to mexico city cost $50 or $60, but to be up to date, maybe you could check the www.ticketbus.com.mx website. I've heard its not reliable to actually buy tickets with, though- I'd do that when you get to mexico.

That would be the main way. Mexico used to have train service but its mainly been discontinued. That leaves air, which if you're taking the greyhound to tijuana, I imagine is probably more expensive than you'd want. If you do take the plane, you may as well take it straight from Sacramento.

You could also rent a car, but driving in Mexico is not for the faint of heart, and the bus would be cheaper anyway.

Walking or hitchhiking is not your safe alternatives. In Tijuana Take a cab to the Bus Station and from there you go straight to Guadalajara.

You have one of two options:

(1) you can drive your car in Tijuana but then you have to realize that most drivers are reckless and that they don't
care about the other person.

or

(2) you can take a local bus that is located at the Tijuana Bus Terminal and you pay for the full passage that will take you to Guadalaja. most buses offer you can kind of a lunch - like a sandwich and a soda plus you can watch several movies and even sleep in this trip.

The cheapest, somewhat safe is the bus. Go online and find the "La Central de Camiones" (Bus Station) in Tijuana for pricing.
