How do i go about renting a holiday apartment in athens?

I know you can find holiday apartments online but how do i know i can trust the site?

Maybe try going through a travel agent. Its alot safer, you might also get some sort of insurance through them.

If you dont feel you can trust an online booking then surely the only other method is to go to an agent. Unless you book online using a reputable Co ie Thompsons etc

I have booked places through this site for Prague (two visits), Italy (two visits, four locations), Budapest, Barcelona (the only dud, the city itself is fantastic), Lisbon (an absolute gem of a place), and plan on doing so again. Make sure you print out the confirmation when you get it, or save it to a back-up drive.

There is a weekly English language paper (Friday) published in Athens which has plenty of accommodation to rent. The paper is at www.athensnews.gr
