How do male and female friends usually act towards each other in Greece?

I know that Greeks in general are more openly affectionate with friends, both of the opposite gender and the same gender. They do the cheek kissing, hugs, and even the teenage boys hold hands sometimes. It's all normal to me now.
But sometimes I still get confused as to what's "normal"!

Example: last weekend I went out with a group of friends. My friend's sister, who is madly in love and engaged, saw a male friend of hers in his car. She ran to him, got in the car and sat on his lap, and the two were hugging, kissing, holding, and caressing each other for about 20 minutes! But they're just friends!

It was surprising to me! Is this just normal, here in Greece?

greeks usually kiss on both cheeks when they greet one another that seems a little more unusual than anything I 've ever seen it seems to me something is going on between them because thats not usual

I do not speak for all Greek, cause I will have the trolls on me again, but I am Greek and I certainly do not condone this behavior. Sure. be friendly, but this scenario is pathetic....and hypocritical,,,,and sometimes I think that girls like that act desperate, and low.

Hiie,
Greek people are a lot more relaxed and open to one another than the english. if you see a friend/neighbour/reletive in the street you stop kiss twice on the cheek, say how are you and stuff. Your friend is probably like just havin a bit of fun nothing 2 worry about. If you are that confused maybe you should ask your friend.
Hard question to answer, sorry if i havn't helped.

It seems to me that she's not as 'madly in love' as you might think.

Well, your friend's sister has some explaining to do to her fiance. It is not acceptable for a young engaged woman to sit on someones lap no matter how friendly they are, no matter what country they live in.
On the other hand, some teenagers tend to exaggerate their reactions. Is not unusual to see girls in high school running to their friends, embracing and kissing them and all this just to say "good morning".And this not only in Greece
It's a sign of our times and it shows how desperate young kids are for some attention and love....

yeaaa thats pretty normal lol=]]]] ilove greece!!!;]
