In greece i was told? |
i was told that it takes 1 month 4 a new line 2 be connected with a phone and net.. do any of you know if this is true or not, It depends, the period required for a new line to be connected can vary from 20 days to several months... For example, in my case, it took two months while in a friends house it took 15 days! One factor is the provider you choose. Generally connections with OTE take less time. Then, you have to put pressure on them: I made a complaint to the union of consumers, and they threatened my provider they would sue them, unless my line had been connected in 15 days...It worked!!! Wow Greece sounds like a paradise. In Ukraine they made me wait 8 months to get cable television, and I am still waiting for the phone. It depends where you are really. I live in Kos and it takes ages to get anything done here, I would say about a month is right for a new phone line, maybe even longer (unless you know someone who works at OTE and you give them a few euros) Our Internet connection failed last month and we had to wait 3 weeks for them to come out and fix it, they still charged us for the monthly fee too, cheeky buggars!! Don't expect anything done quickly in Greece! Well, I am sorry to say this, but, aside from the obvious location question (which is also important, as it may take even longer for a line to be installed in remote areas with no nearby telecommunication installations), it also depends on who you know. As with many other places around the world, if you know the "right" person / government official, the lines/ connections installation can be really quick. It takes about one month to get a phone line, and thereafter depending where in Greece you live and whether you will have ADSL or ISDN, it should take another two weeks or so...but again I repeat it all depends where you live, in Greece. I must say that OTE is pretty good in Greece. It depends on where you are and what lines are available - ours took less than one week for both phone and internet connection. (Ipirus) Hello, |
