I am an x-ray tech looking for work in GREECE, what are the possibilities?

I am half greek- american, know half the language, been there a few times. Just looking to see if moving there and working is worth it or not. What do they pay x-ray techs in hospitals in Greek major cities?

First step would be to get your degree recognised by the Greek authorities. This is done by an agency called DOATAP (www.doatap.gr). They are remarkably inefficient, even by the standards of Greek bureaucracy, so you should expect this process to last as much as a year.

The major employer for health-care professionals is the government, as most hospitals are state-run. However, these jobs are reserved for Greek citizens or EU nationals. You might find a job in a private hospital or clinic, but these are few and it might not be easy to find one recruiting. Pay, insurance and job security vary greatly in the private sector, but are rarely great.

In terms of pay, I believe that around 15,000 Euros *net* p.a. would be a realistic estimate for an entry-level professional. Between a quarter and a third of this would be deducted for social security and taxes. The remaining sum is adequate if you're in one of the smaller towns, but I'm not sure you'd manage to sustain a good standard of living in Athens.
