Oh boy, don't get me started:

You can build a house over night without a license. If you want to get a license it will take you a million years and it will cost you twice as much. So no one gets a license to build not even the Public Works Minister.

We are great nature lovers and outdoors people. When ever a forest in Greece burns down everyone and their brother (that includes politicians, priests, businesspeople, and citizens) race to grab a piece of burned forest to build on.

We are very hospitable people. Indeed there are over one million unauthorized immigrants that are taken care of by hospitable Greek families. A brilliant example is an Indian family that was staying at the country house of the Minister of Employment.

We care about each other. Indeed right now the whole country is at a stand still, observing the terrible drama of a model family gone bad.

It is the only country in the history of human kind that one big scandal comes after the other and not only noone criticizes the government but the major OPPOSITION party loose popularity.

We are very smart. We are born like that you see. The average Greek university student spends about 30 days every year in the classroom. And we are thinking of reducing it a bit too.

Greeks are extremely wealthy. Indeed take a walk around any Greek town about noon,. You will see scores of people hanging around that cafes and restaurants for hours doing nothing, complaining about the dismal economic state the country in. If you repeat this around 11:00-01:00 at night you will see the same people doing the same thing in bars and clubs.

Greeks are extremely ambitious. The average person here dreams of one and only one professional dream: to "work" for the government" (I put that in quotes because working for the government is an oxymoron here)

We are extremely proud people. Any Greek you might meet will go on and on and on and on about the marvellous achievements of our ancestors. However if you ask him or her: 鈥渨hat have the modern Greeks have to show in comparison鈥?they鈥檒l say: VAS VAS VAS o Paraskeuas VAS VAS.

Our insurance and pension fund are collapsing, the Education and Health systems went to the dogs, the country is governed by a bunch of incompetent lazy crooks, the justice system is dying and the most important issue on the News is who is going to Eurovision

I can keep going on but I'm getting depressed already.

Kimon, come on, don't be so depressed! We live in a beautiful country. You have to choose the good things and not pay any attention to the people who don't know the deep meaning of life, or think we're here just to make money. They're unhappy after all.

An interesting fact about everyday life in Athens is that you must be a good walker! You go everywhere faster on foot!
Kalamata is a very beautiful city in Greece! A lovely seaside, everybody enjoys walking there. Far more relaxed than Athens.
