White Christmas? |
I am flying into the west coast of USA either into L.A or San Francisco for a holiday in December, coming from Australia I would like to see a white Christmas, I have searched the Denver area, do you guys have any other good locations that you care to share with an Aussie. It would be most appreciated, thank you in advance. A little closer to L.A. is what I hope you are asking. If it is, there are plenty of places along the Sierra Nevadas that are good for snow in the mountains and white Christmases. I would suggest you fly into San Francisco. First of all, San Francisco is a beautiful city, and a great city for walking, restaurants, shops, etc. From there, you can drive about 100 miles east to the Sierra Nevada, Lake Tahoe area which usually has plenty of snow during the winter months. There are a number of ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area, along with big-name casinos, if you enjoy gaming. The lake itself is quite pretty, and you can usually find cabin/home rentals. The Sierra Nevada Mountains extend for most of the state, and are accessible from either Los Angeles or San Francisco - however, I would consider San Francisco a 'must see' over Los Angeles. Make sure you check out Lake Tahoe rentals online, well in advance. Northern Montana will have snow. I live in north dakota, and we generally have snow for christmas. But western MT always has snow. They have snow all year around. We had a snowball fight on the 4th of July!. ( IN Glacier Nation Park) |
