Tombstone, Arizona?

My girlfriend is facinated by this place and wants to go visit when we go to Las Vegas later in the year. It'll involve a return flight to Tucson and the hiring of a car so is it really worthwhile? Is there much to do/see?

I've been to Tombstone four times because my husband is a western fan. If I were in the area I would go, but to go from Vegas, I don't think so unless you could make it Friday or Saturday ( then it comes to life ) another great time to visit is Helderado Days in October, if you decide to visit at that time, book your hotel room way in advance.
All in all it is a good place to visit, but only if you enjoy westerns and history and you are in the area, I'm sure you'll have fun

Tombstone itself is population 1,500. It would be much more interesting to travel via car from Vegas through the Hoover Dam project, through Phoenix and on to Tuscon and Tombstone. Southern AZ is all about dessert landscape. From north Arizona driving southwards is about a 2,000 foot drop that includes mountains.
