Bus travel...Safe?

Hi,I am new to this place and country. I live in Hollywood CA, and I want to travel to San Jose, California by Greyhound buses overnight. Is it safe to travel by bus and is the route safe. Please suggest.

It's mostly safe yeah, but you may come accross some quite smelly people. I've been there. NOT fun!

It is OK, much better to take megabus from union station 11:30pm and arrive SF 6:30am, big,clean, new bus, and fare is only $10 one-way to SF or SJ.

I agree with Flower...I took a bus from Seattle To flagstaff az and I had the dregs of humanity along for the ride,it was safe,but you will see all types of people(usually the ones who cannot afford a plane or train,or some who the cops have given a one way ticjet out of town to) so don't be suprised at who your fellow travlers will be.

It depends on what you want to do. If you like the beach & a great zoo go to San Diego. If you like arts & history go to San Francisco.
