How much money do i need - US?

Im 17... and ill be travelling to the US in late march.

I'll be 4 days in CA (is there something to see in the OC?)
Around 4 days in NY
1 day in Boston, MA (hotel paid)
and: 3 or 4 days in Montreal, Canada. (hotel paid)

Plane ticket South America - USA: USD 800

The thing is that i want to do a good quantity of shopping... i.e. an Apple laptop and good clothes at low prices.. (i was thinking, maybe target?), even if it means crappy hotels...

How much money do i need?

For shopping? This all depends on how much you want to spend and what your money will convert at, these are BIG factors.

There is plenty to see in the OC, including a few outlet shopping malls and Disney Land! If you want to see Hollywood, its about an hours drive from orange county. And tons of targets by the way.

In NY, across from ground-zero there is a place (I forget the name), offers designer close at discount prices, huge department store. It'll probably be a lot harder to find a target in the heart of NY. If your staying in Manhattan, start looking at hotels ASAP, they get really pricey- I just booked a 4 night stay at $350/night and thats negotiated discount rates for a group meeting.

3,000 usd at least that is how much i would take

a couple grand

DON'T bring a lot of cash. It's too risky if you get off the beaten path in any of the cities you mention. Bring your credit or debit cards instead.

Hotels in California and New York will not be cheap. You can check for example prices via: www.priorityclub.com and www.bestwestern.com You can also use sites like Expedia, Priceline, and Travelocity to check for hotel rates.

The least you can probably count on spending for meals, transportation, and incidentals is $75 to $100 per day.

This website has info on shopping in New York City: http://www.newyorkescape.net/shopping.ht...

Go to the websites for stores like BestBuy and CompUSA to compare laptop prices.

Good luck!
