Does America have a cooperative or adversarial relationship with the rest of the world?

In your opinion, does America treat other nations with respect, and coopoeration, or does America approach the world with an adversarial approach? Do American interests benefit the world, or just America?

We have a cooperative relationship with almost all countries, though we don't cooperate on everything.

We have an adversarial relationship with a few countries, such as Cuba, Iran, and North Korea. Even then we sometimes cooperate with those countries.

The global news media hates George Bush so very rarely is there any positive press for the USA around the world. Realize the news media is primarily made up of people who think the USSR was a great idea and are sorry it is gone.

John McCain will probably be the next President and it is too soon to know how he will be portrayed by the global media.

While everyone loves to hate us, and I will no doubt get several thumbs down, I think we try and do things that are in the world's best interest. We give more foreign aid than any other nation on earth and we provide 40% of the funding for the UN. I think that is a pretty good deal.

Well it is cooperative for the most part. But yes, we act in our own best interest. There is a strong belief (and largely supported by the facts) that our ways (democracy, rule of law, free enterprise, and civil rights of individuals) are best so the things we do in the world to advance those concepts are good for us and good for them. Of course not everyone sees it that way, and we are not always right about what we are doing or how we are doing it. So there will always be an adversary.
