Taking a road trip from dothan,al to jacksonville,fl looking for fun stops along the way for my kids 10&12?

I would stop in St. Augustine. It is only about 30-40 minutes south of Jax. This is the oldest city in the US and there are plenty of things here for the family to do. Check out the old fort Castillo De San Marco, take a walk on St. George Street and visit the Colonial Spanish Village, a very nice living history museum. Check out the lighthouse and museum, go to the Alligator Farm (one of my favorite places around been here forever) or check out a trolley tour. See the first Ripley鈥檚 Believe it or Not, The Fountain of Youth, The Old Jail and Fort Matanzas. Take a dolphin cruise or a ghost tour; there are just so many family things to do here! If you go be sure to get the Big Fat Coupon Book you can either request it online or pick it up at the visitor鈥檚 center. It has all kinds of coupons for restaurants and attractions so it saves you some cash. I think you all would have fun for a day down there; we go every year and really enjoy it. Have a great trip!
