Does the typical American accent sound good to a British? (British only)?

By typical I mean the east coast/new york/atlantic accent, not midwestern or southern.

The twangy, nasal kind of accent is irritating, and the drawn-out southern drawl makes the speaker sound like they have learning difficulties . . .or you just can't make out what they're saying.

Other than that, it's alright, but I don't know what kind of accent New Yorkers have.

how on earth is this the "typical" American accent? a subtle yankee accent is okay, but most of the time it is a bit on the heavy side. its like the cousin of the deep southern accent, both are hard on the ears.

well I can only give you my opinion It's Ok so long as it isn't to winey. But i do really like the Southern American accent. sorry!
What British accent do you like?

no. coz its irritating to our ears - like Americans in general!

I don't see how there can be a "typical" American accent. I live in the south (North Carolina specifically) and I don't have an accent. I've been here all my life as well. But I live in a city where a lot of different people from all around the world mix and mingle together. But I can't for the life of me think of one typical accent someone from America would have.

yes i like it its nice
i have a friend who has that accent and he is from states.
i take the mick out of it some times trying to intimate it.
yes i like that accent.

ignore ChuZzLe and the other anti American mugs
they make the rest of us look bad because most Brits like USA

I love the New York accent.
