live in england but have never been to wales or scotland

just wanted to know if there is a border to both of those countires and how big is it?

There is a border as you can see on most good maps of the british isles. But when you actually travel between the countries there isn't border control or anything like that. If you're travelling from England to Scotland (or the welsh border), there are signs on the side of the road where the border intersects the road, pretty uneventfull really, blink and you miss it if you're going on the motorway at a good speed.

No real border just signs telling you that you are entering these different places.

Yes, there is a border between England and Wales/Scotland.

Any map of the UK will show them.

No border because we are meant to be a United Kingdom. Its a shame that most people who live here have been far and wide abroad but have never been to different parts of their own country.
There are some lovely areas in the UK.

Born in Dorset, stationed with the Army in Wales and now live in Scotland. Oh, and served in Northern Ireland. Just BIG sigs saying 'welcome to...' and 'you are now leaving...'.

The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland altogether.
There are borders signs to say you are entering Scotland & Wales.
