Anyy british people out there?!<3?

Ten Points to whoever can describe to me,
in detail, how to speak with a british accent.
you must take your time and full describe it.

THANKS! <3

Wannabe pretty much hit the nail on the head.
I'm assuming you mean the Queens English by 'British Accent' and not the Scottish, Wesh, or Northern Irish accents.

The main thing to remember is words that are pronounced completely differently such as

Tomaahto and not Tomayto
Tyuna instead of Toona (same applies for all other words with TU, tune, tuba, tube etc)
Any word with the letter R in it, the R is silent (except words that actually begin with the letter R where is IS pronounced, such as Roof)
So Card is pronounced 'caahd' Hard is 'Haahd' Car is 'Caah'
With the word Herb, the H is pronounced, and not 'erb' the way Americans pronounce it.

The last thing I can think of is the pronunciation of the 'tt' in British English, more of an emphasis is put on this, so Butter would be pronounced 'Buttaah' and not 'Budder'

That's pretty much all by way of pronunciation, the other things that will catch you out are differences in the way we say things, such as:

When talking about dates, the British format for todays date is 23/02/08, putting it day/month/year where in the USA it would be 02/23/08. The same is applied when saying the date. You would say 23rd of February and not February 23rd.

Also for numbers, you would say 'two thousand AND eight' instead of 'two-thousand eight'

The word 'gotten' is never used in British English so use got instead.

We say Shopping Centre instead of Mall, term instead of semester, anti clockwise instead of counter-clockwise, primary school instead of elementary school, secondary school instead of high school, university instead of college, biscuit instead of cookie, footpath instead of sidewalk - list could go on forever!

Hope this helps =]

I do believe we speak the queens English.

There is no such thing as a British Accent I'm afraid. There are sometimes vast differences from area to area.

hi i'm british!! Try this:

1: Understand that all English accents (barring those from the West country and parts of Scotland) lack a rhotic r; i.e. don't roll your "r"s and that not all British Accents are the same; a Scottish accent varies greatly from an English accent, but are both British

2: Know that some English accents may be that the 'T's are not pronounced and that the u in stupid and duty is pronounced with the y sound, not oo as in an American accent; thus it is pronounced styupid, not stoopid, etc. The standard English accent, the a (for example in father) is pronounced aah, not like a like apple.

3: Pronounce that T as T, and not an American D. (Duty is pronounced Dyuty or condensed slightly to Jooty; not doody)

4: Pronounce the suffix -ing with the g, so it sounds like -ing rather than -een.
Applying the two steps above, the words human being are pronounced h-yuman being rather than yooman been.

5: Sometimes 'T's aren't pronounced at all, especially in words with two 'T's grouped together.

6:Realise that some words require the ee sound to be pronounced as ee, such as in the word been. In an American accent, this is often pronounced bin. In an English Accent, this may be pronounced been, a cognate of bean; though bin is often accepted in standard English.

Yes, I am a British, We speak in a quite posh accent compared to the Americans. Our country likes the countryside and nature, although in London, the capital of Britain they aren't so interested in the wildlife. Thank you.

i am British
there's not really a accent as there are many country's in Britain
there's Scottish , English,welsh,Irish
and then there's the differences with different dialects e,g liverpool

The British accent that I think you are talking about is called " Received Pronunciation" what our Queen speaks, this has become classed as too snobby. People have toned it down to speak for instance like Tony Blair.

I suggest you watch a few videos of Tony Blair, who is actually Scottish.
