Where is the best beach in southern England?

Sandy/pebbly..I don't mind
Just somewhere scenic and preferably clean!

I walk my dog every day on this tiny deserted beach in S.E. Cornwall. I hate big, crowded uninteresting beaches, but this one has rock pools, is almost always deserted, and the surrounding scenery is to die for

If I want a change, I go to this equally beautiful beach, near Polperro. The small waterfall that flows onto the beach, is perfect for washing the sand off my dog He absolutely loves sitting under it..

These two beaches were used for the filming of "Poldark" both the old series, back in the 70's, and the more recent series, 10 years ago.

threes some nice little bays around there

We visited several beaches on our trip and we were most impressed with Boscombe near Bournemouth (which was also nice). It had a nice park nearby, plenty of parking (Pay & Display) and golden sand ( a rarity). The water was nice and fairly calm.

Weymouth has one of the best beaches on the South coast. Clean, golden sand. Fantastic.
