What are british stereotypes about americans???

What are british stereotypes about americans???

This is what some Brits think of Americans - Arrogant, Ignorant, unintelligent and they think Americans think the USA is the best county in the world.

This is not necessarily my point of view of Americans.

I live in the USA so my views of Americans are different.

I think they think we're all a bunch of hicks...

General assumptions, are that American's are:

(in school) - very clique-y, there are jocks/cheerleaders/nerds

Not very smart, superficial, they think that America is the centre of the world, and don't know much about geography / generally about other countries, and hate foreigners.

Not that this is what EVERYONE thinks of course, but it does seem to be a general stereotype, then again, all British people don't have bad teeth / drink tea / speak posh etc..

Not my thoughts but some people think:

They think America is the centre of the Universe and in comparison every other country is some sort of a third world country.

They have very limited knowledge of anywhere outside the USA.

Loud and obnoxious

Superficial

Shallow

I'd say a lot of this comes from visitors going to America and being asked daft questions about their country (like 'do you have pizza in Europe?')
And then things like that girl on are you smarter than a 10 year old, being broadcast around the world, and the contestant thought that Europe was the capital of Paris, or something ridiculous like that, doesn't exactly help.

I know it's not just Americans who do this, when I was in Canada I was asked if we have cars in Ireland.

Loud and demonstrative behaviour especially on
Lifts (elevators). Talk down to Front Desk Clerks and Waiters.

well being british i look at americans as being:
fat
annoying accents
thick (as in dumb)
no sense of humour
