Booking a bed and breakfast room?

Hi...

I would like to gather information as to whether it would be possible and the procedure for booking a double room in a bed and breakfast. How much notice do i need to give and how do i set about placing the initial reservation?

Being 17 years old i am wondering if a bed and breakfast or hotel would allow me to book with them (Is there an age policy?)

I intend to share the double room with my girlfriend who lives some distance from me....

I do however have a valid debit visa card, which i understand is accepted... Will the age cause some difficulties...

I always use www.myb&b.co.uk You book with them, using your C C. It is that easy. On site you can search areas and places in your price range.

Another good site is www.hotelshop.co.uk They have some super offers in 4* hotels at up to 70% off. I sued them once for a stay in a London Hotel. Hotel price = 拢107 per room per night. Through Hotelshop it was 拢30 per room.
On site you can even view the hotel etc.

just ring up or contact on line and ask if they have a vacancy for the dates you require for a double room and ask what their rates are. ask if they accept debit or credit cards. thats all you do. stop stressing. age does not come into it. they dont ask for id. cards.

i dont think theyll even ask your age. and i dont think it would matter anyway as youre old enough to be out alone anyway. and over the age of consent - i presume your g.f. is too?
how much notice you need to give will vary from place to place, just ring them and see if they have any vacancies on the required date. your name and card details, and maybe address should be all you need to give.
questions may be asked if you turn up and look very young.

Most don't really have an age policy as such. They just merely expect you to be old enough to look after yourself.

All you do for the reservation is phone them up saying that you want a double room for two people on a particular date for however many nights you want to stay.

You don't have to give notice to make a reservation. You can book the day before or a year before. You will get a reservation if they have availability. Most b&b's will accept visa cards these but check with them. They may also require a deposit or will take your credit card details over the phone in case of cancellation.

Ask for their cancellation policy in case you do need to cancel. Typically, if you need to cancel, you need to give them some notice else you will be charged for the first night or lose your deposit.
