Is there survivalist groups in the UK?

Is there survivalist groups in the UK?

Probably. The stories about Travelers being harassed by police and disappearing for a couple years before showing up again when police case is closed indicates some people know how to survive. IRA has operated in Britain for awhile. Scots and Welsh activists have gone into woods for a few days and practiced a bit of poaching. The organic gardeners have some people learning to hide a garden in back of houses, the Guardian articles about the homemade guns and crossbows being used in gang fights indicated some technical ability to make effective survival tools. The term survivalist needs to be defined- around here in Wisconsin the descriptions seem to indicate my Amish former neighbors- they have as little to do with government as possible, are self sufficient regarding food and fuel, some government people say they are radicals for not trusting government- but the term 'in god we trust' is still on currency. What is your definition of 'survivalist'?

Yeah....it is called the Liberal Democrats..;)

Oh yes, they are in almost every country in the world now. You'd be apt to find them in the Hertfordshire,Devon, and Scot border area.

Tramp it.......Seriously you will never go on any servival course that matches this. Even the 'specialist' soldiers get to do this at times. Avoid cities accept for their resources. Avoid people, they are very dangerouse, tramps in cities are regularly beaten to death. Last night was minus seven celcius, it gets colder, rains and snows and you will have only yourself to rely on. Dogs truely are Man's best friend but also your enemy. Blackthorn for toothbrushes, warm straw beds, sleeping in the open fields in summer. Fire in seconds and one single tin can can be a million tools includig all day hand warmer when stuffed with smoldering moss. Wild beasts will treat you differently(cease to show fear) and sheep love your company, they'll keep you warm and protected in filthy weather if your caught in open. Exposure is the total enemy but Nature becomes your ally. There's amazing people out there, they come to you, usually because you need their help, and rarely ask anything but the respect they deserve. A handfull of grain can be turned into a meatfest in minutes and good friendships made. US army pilots eat bark and beatles and nearly die after a few weeks. Tramps can survive for years and often remain as un-seen as the army boy has to. I could go on, flints melted into your boot soles stop 'em wearing out, but create noise on hard ground. Piss on your feet and they'll get super tough in no time, perfect for long journeys with no boots on or being stealthy and un-noticed(hunting/avoiding people). Eat good food and it wont stink to bad, you wont notice, others will(people are dangerous)!!!! For every need Nature has a resource, if you have the desire and faith in yourself then the UK is like custom made for tramping and tramping is survival in it's truest sense and free, you'll meet some of the cleverest, witiest, kindest people of anytime in your life. Not perhaps recomended as a 'course' but certainly a way of learning 'survival' in a very real way. Once done it's very hard to not to want to go back and I fully appreciate and admire those that do. Some do it as occassionals, as in a few weeks in the summer(like cheap holiday), then return to 'normal' life when the 'season' ends, winter is a killer but surviving it as a Tramp should be worthy of the highest accalade. Shoot, you got me going, feel like heading out the door right now, brrrrrrr cold!!!!!
