Hi from Devon, England, about 40 miles from Exeter. It's about 14 hours after your question, and coming up to 6.30pm, GMT. I wouldn't have been awake at the time you posted!
Our weather has been beautiful for the last few days, could compete with California if temperature a little higher.
Was in your State a few years ago, did LA and Sanny Franny. Loved it all. Have just read James Pattersons' The 6th Target, and it brought back memories.

your friend is lucky, silverton is a really nice village. i am in exeter. mostly its good here except for saturday nights. theres a really bad booze culture in the city that leads to a lot of fighting and attacks, and the residents in our street suffer with vandalism to our cars every saturday. so much so that i now park my car somewhere safer about a mile away every saturday afternoon. when it warms up in a minute i'll walk down the road and bring it back.

Sorry, most of the population died Saturday night!!
