Im moving to england...will i get a accent? |
im moving to england next year for school and i want to know if ill get a accent, and if i do how long will it take for me to get it? I hope so probably after a few years a couple of hours I depends on how old u are. as soon as u talk to many people from there you may develop one, but that would take years, if it does happen, good luck in england man! Depends, really. It usually takes a few years to get a bit of the accent. I don't really think you GET an accent. mebay if you try to use that accent for the whole time your there, you'll probably develop it. it takes time.. you never know how long it will take. good luck at your new school though! :) lol, are you that desperate to gain the Brit accent? I guess that with Brit friends and studying should be soon as:-D Hopefully you are not moving to Liverpool! lol. well it depends how old you are and how long you are staying...the younger you are probably the faster you would obtain that accent onlyif you want to. Why why why !!! first of. how old are you? and you might get an accent. but not Brits. and will remain as long as you stay there cause if you come back you;ll lose it unless you stay there for over 3years. No. Foreigners almost never get an authentic accent. You might get a few words right, but you will always sound like what you are. A jolly good effort! While you may pick up some parts of the accent or some pronunciations, it is unlikely that someone past primary age will totally pick up a foreign accent. Yeah England doesn't really have one accent we got tons. You go to London you will have a slight cockney accent, if you go to Liverpool you will have a souse accent and many more, if you go to a posh area you will probably have a posh accent what sucks because being posh is horrible. Hopefully never you sarcastic mutant, Move to Scotland and be a man. Depends on what you do and how much time you spend interacting with people. i can understand american and england accent what is the problem with that. well good lunk in england. well both my cousins and myself are english/welsh and they've been living in america for 5+ years now..the 2 kids picked up the accent relatively quickly (they're 8 and 10 i think) but their parents stil have their british ccent. i'd say the younger you are the more susceptible you are to accent change..but i could be wrong..maybe you'll develop a slight "twang" (for want of a better word..what is the english equivalent of the american "twang" i wonder?! Where are you from? If English is your first language (American, Australian) then I think you will. But if it isn't then it will take you years and years....or never. A little bit If you are there long enough you will. Just look at Kylie Minogue No. We have a family friend who's from Ireland and shes lived here for 60 years and her accent is almost like she's pop over for a visit. My wife is a Scot and she still has a Morayshire accent. She has lived in England for 11 years. not necessarily. you can change it if you want to tho. its not hard. haha. just remember where you come from. lol. Be careful, I heard that they are very contaigous! No, thats pretty lame to think that! |
