Lucerne (Luzern in German) is one of the most beautyful cities we have. Its pretty small, has a nice old town and lies at the lake of lucerne. (I grew up in a village near Lucerne.)

(klick on the citynames)

If you wanna go on mountains near Lucerne:
-Rigi
-Pilatus

Skiing:
-Engelberg (also very nice village - about 1 hour drive from Lucerne)

Other Cities nearby:
-Zurich
-Bern
-Basel (thats on the way to Rust where the Europapark is - the Europapark is in Germany, don't forget your passport)

Greetings from Switzerland! Enjoy your stay!

Ask at one of those torist places, they often have lots of leflets for intresting things to do.

You could buy a rail pass for a specific number of days (It's called a Swiss Pass) - you can then board any train and travel around Switzerland very easily - If you go to Bern, remember Strasbourg is just a stop across the border in France. Interlaken and Grindelwald are worth seeing.

near by is lake Geneva and they have swiss cheese races but when i cant remember when or where. great shopping arcades near lousanne, you never know you might bump into alain prost, phil collins, sophia loren and michael schumacher, its a beautiful country with wonderful ski slopes, the food comes mostly in french, german. anyway have a lovely time i wish i was going along with you, i suggest if you look up www. my switzerland.com this site has good info with photos etc.

every city in switzerland is different. the nicest region in my experience is the Bernese Oberland, Meiringen to Interlaken, nice resorts and lakes, mountains, snow and forests. Zurich, Basel Luzern are just normal cities. Bern is cool especially the old city of Bern, lovely. the frech part is nice too, Geneve.
visit this website www.myswitzerland.com , it is the country's official website

You can visit Genava, Geneva is very nice. You could find interesting things in Fribourg and Montreux. Those were my favourite places when I visited Switzerland.

Nice to go to Lucern.. this is a good choice, from there you can go easily to the French and Italien part... So I'll suggest to visit this webpage: www.myswitzerland.com which gives you an excellent idea what to do. My suggestion as a young Swiss (29) from the French Part:
1. Z眉rich as a day to visit (enough)
2. Ascona and Lugano (as 1-2 days to visit) in the Italian part
3. Montreux, Lausanne and Geneva (1-2 days to visit) in the french part.. there you might enjoy the good wine (white and red) and the good food. In Lausanne you have the Olympic Museum
4. Zermatt, Cran Montana or less costly if sunny: Verbier or Villars
5. Bodensee: go to Konstanz (in Germany) and to Friedrischafen... worth to visit.
6. Appenzell: a very small and typical swiss village
7. la Gruy猫re (visit the cheese factory and chocolate factory) and eat in the village of Gruy猫re a Swiss Fondue

In all those areas, depending what you are looking for you'll enjoy it... for sports, culture, good food and nice areas. With the swiss train transportation you might as well get reductions: www.sbb.ch
