Visiting NZ? |
We are Japanese family living in South Africa. My mother and small brother want to go to Malaysia for Easter and I on the hand want to visit New Zealand because I heard so many good things. Is it safe for a single girl to travel in your country? P/s Is April a good time to go? There are few countries that I would feel safer in as a lone woman traveler, than NZ. There is a really low crime rate, it's easy to get around, the people are really friendly. It is also really easy to meet other women travelers and partner up, with the extensive hostel system and large number of travelers. As long as you use common sense and don't hitch hike(hitch hiking is very common in NZ, but, I don't recommend it for a single woman), you should be fine. I have two friends from south africa who have moved to new zealand in the last few years and both are amazed at how safe it is. Im sure you will find it very nice here if you decide to come. Heya! We have an amazing country. It is relativly safe but just watch out. Have a great time! So many things to do you should be fine, especially in tourist towns/rural areas. You should go on a bus tour with others to see NZ, and they cover all the fun and best tourist places in NZ... it is the safest way if you are alone. You can book this with the travel agents in NZ, House of Travel (they are throughout NZ)...see website below and they could book your flights here also etc. You then have a local travel agent to support you if need to change or make extra travel plans. They can advise you as to what would be the best trip for you. Have a very happy and fun trip! :) New Zealand Is Great!! Ashburton Is The Best Though. YAY. You will have a fantastic time!!! it is so safe - do it!! On the North Island go to Bay of Islands, Rotorua, Lake Taupo, Wellington(the museum is fantastic) on the south island visit Franz josef, Queenstown, Milford Sound, Dunedin, Lake Tekapo (just to see the colour of the lake!), Christchurch!! The West Coast of the South Island is amazing, the scenery is what we have been told is some of the best in the world! It is very safe in New Zealand! The crime rate is very low and if you join a tour group your bound to find some more japanese tourists! |
