Who is disgusted.......? |
About the level of graffiti in this country? I went on a holiday around the north island and there was not one town that didnt have some form of graffiti. I saw heaps of sheds and that in the middle of no where that had been tagged. I was particully disgusted by the level of it in Tauranga and also my home town wellington. Do you think the graffiti problem will get a bit better? I heard the NZ's gang rate is going up, a lot of graffiti is done by gang members making their mark so i doubt it'll get any better :o( Graffiti is awful. I am from the US and it's all over the place. What irks me is that some university professor will go on the radio and say it's "art" or "freedom of expression." Well the graffiti "artists" should apply some art to that professor's home and then we'll ask him/her what he/she thinks. The best way to get rid of the graffiti and to discourage it is to paint it over IMMEDIATELY so the vandals won't be able to point out the graffiti to their pals. The police also need to arrest and press charges against the vandals. Graffiti is vandalism, nothing less.I want to visit NZ someday and am sorry to hear about all that ugly graffiti. Well, there is a difference between graffiti and tagging. Tagging is jsut done by a bunch of little twerps with too much time on their hands, and its usually ugly, and its like their name, or gang logo or something, whilst graffiti is more of an art form. Like, you can get really amazing street artists, kinda like painting a mural, but its with spraypaint, not tins of paint. But I guess it would only be acceptable if it was done with consent, rather than creeping out at night, or whatever they do... |
