Traveling to New Zealand Need help!?

I've traveled to NZ before with family when I was a teenager but my friend and I have just bought our tickets to go in April and none of the Contiki tours are on offer when we're there.

But we want to travel around a little bit however we can't rent a car (Ive been told!) as I only have my green P's (2nd class licence not full)) and am under 25

Can anyone offer any suggestions about where we should go and what we should do and where to stay?!

We're arrive 13th of April and Leave on the 25th of April

Newmans (who off the same sort of tours as Contiki)
or purenz.

yes you can try googling a few coach tours, i remember they were very popular with youth tourists in NZ as you can travel around NZ at your own pace using these tour buses. Also try this website, its an itinery of what a group of 4 English teens did in their gap year with about 1 month in NZ maybe you can get some ideas

Hmm, not entirely sure athough I'm planing to go on Contiki to NZ also this year!

I'm Aussie and have never been. Good to hear that other people are interested in going as I was a bit hesitant if it would be enjoyable.
