Are Maestro debit cards accepted in New zealand ATM machines and can I also use one to pay for things there? I know that maestro is at ATM machines here....I would say that here in Nz it has a better EFTPOS ( pay with your card rather than cash) than it is in the UK ( or at least I found I had to carry more cash in the UK, whereas here in NZ I just used my card all the time to pay for things)....we are pretty up to date on that matter. I don't use my bank card (Canadian bank) as a debit card but I was able to make withdrawls at the ATMs when I was in New Zealand earlier this year. Just look for the little sign with the symbols on it. Never seen that card. If ATM's in N Z do accept it I'd imagine a hefty fee on your monthly statement. M/C, Visa, Amex are the mainstrewam cards here. You can always ask the issuer of you card. I am not very sure, i will have a look for you and get back to you. |
