Where is the best place in New Zealand to settle in?

I've been given a chance to work and live in NZ. I'm in healthcare and I was wondering what is the best place to settlle in. Cheers!:)

Nelson, top of the South Island and the sunniest place in NZ
Nelson and Tasman Region has a resident population of 92,300
On one side of Nelson you have Abel Tasman http://www.abeltasman.co.nz and Golden Bay, http://www.goldenbay.net.nz/en/guide.htm... and the other side Marlborough.http://www.destination.co.nz/marlborough - everything is not far away if wanting a change of scenery.

Close to everything, beaches, the countryside, ski fields, wineries, hiking tracks etc鈥? again my opinion, less crime in South Island also. Nelson is probably the safest place. Next choice would be Christchurch.

Wellington is pretty choice! I live here and love it. Great life style. Oh and Mount Maunganui in the bay of plenty is really really nice. Its like a big surf city. Auckland's alright if you like big cities.

Nelson is also really nice

honestly, anywhere but auckland!it's a s***hole!some of the outer suburbs are alright, queenstown, heard wellington's good too.it's a beautiful country, but the pay over there is terrible!,i'm a kiwi but live in oz.

Wellington is a cool place.
However Wellington Hospital is having some really bad problems at the moment and copping a lot of flack. Best to stay away from it for those reasons until things get sorted.

Nelson. followed by Wellington but Wellington gets cold and windy
