So who's grateful Helen didn't drag us into the "war"?

I was overseas when it all went down - doing my army service in Greece. I was very proud NZ didn't send over soilders as meat parcels.

Labour, National politics aside, are you glad we didn't commit?

I only wish more countries didnt commit to it, being from Texas where Bush was previously Governor and then having him become president right out of the governor's office only makes me feel that much more ashamed to be an American. Not that I dont support our troops or the fact that we're at war,..Hell man, if it were any other president I'd probably support this action abit more,......it just seems to me that any president who can take a country from being in the red to the Black which President Clinton did for us after Bush sr. had us in the red after Iraq-#1,........all the way past 1.5 trillion dollars?.under Bush jr. & Iraq #2....then there's something wrong with the man, even I cant screw something up that bad and I've had 6 wives!...........geeeeeeeeeeesh, even I dont have as many enemies by percentage as BushJr. does! and I only know a handful of folks and thats about it,........I've been screwing up most of my life but it would seem here that by comparison, I've been doin more right, at the worst times of my life than Bush jr has in the past 7 years & I'm 49.........geeeeeeeeeeeessshh!!!!!!!!
Yep I'm grateful new zealand did't send anything. But at the same time, the Island of samoa sent a bunch of troops, so did the phillipenes and a bunch of other small insignificant countries,.actually there are no insignificant countires, we are all the same,.......I am referring to countries by numbers.of troops sent and troops who stayed. none of them stayed for longer than about 16 months the first go round or the second. feel glad you're not American right about now. but you might cross your fingers for us that we might end up cornering Bin Laden & putting his *** on trial...I'd love to see him on public display or even hanging from the arm of the statue of liberty, I'm not usually a supporter of wars of any kind, anywhere for any reason, much less for reasons of "religion" which this is absolutely "Not About" This is about Oil and control of that oil and thats all it's about, I personally wish we could stop depending on oil at all and go totally green but we cant and we wont for some time yet,...... so until we can, we'll be in this war. I have 2 kids in this war, one in the navy and one in the army,.......I want them both home more than I can say, believe me,if one of them gets hurt over there, I'll be goin back over there myself and I'll wage me a little war all my own.

I wish we didnt have an idiot for a president trying todrag us into another one antonio.

Hey Antoni, haven't talked to you in a while, just wanted to say HI !

Yes Im glad Helen didnt drag us into war........
My feeling about war is simple....
It never determines who is RIGHT only who is LEFT...( as in alive ) and sadly the casualties on both sides are alarming.....
My hearts go out to all the parents and siblings out there ( in either country !) whose children's lives are on the line.

May I also commend " the orego" on his post...you being from the states its good to hear youre perspective on politics and the war etc...and better luck in your personal life next time too.
So many other things you wrote about refering to past politicians I agree with....
We are New Zealanders and my son has very strong feelings on American Policy...some Americans fail to see how there decisions affect other countries ( eventually)....and your nation as is ours are in our prayers for Godly men to rule....
I wish New Zealand would cut the cord with Britain but I guess thats another topic....

In hind-sight yes, I believe it was the right thing. But I have to admit that I thought Bush was right at the time.
It's very easy to judge after the event.
Perhaps power has gone to Bush's head that everyone hates him so much.
I can never forget how he came across on 11/7 (or 7/11) when I thought he was just fantastic. We forget the good things so easily.... but now it does seem to have been a big mistake.
Thing is though, we don't know just what would have happened if he hadn't taken action, do we!
