Is Tijuana Dangerous?

im moving to there from moscow. i think it looks really tight to live there.

i come from russia and im trying to get a new experience on life. i have a succesfull life over there.

I have lived in Mexico City as a foreigner for almost 15 years. Tijuana is a little different because of the drug problems, but as many people have said here, it is almost exclusively within the drug community. All in all, though it is like many big cities.

Keys for success:

Don't go out late alone.
Don't flash more money than necessary.
Learn Spanish and use it.
Accept the culture and blend into it.

TJ is a great city with lots to offer. It is much cleaner tan 10 years ago. Good luck.

No. The drug cartels are fighting each other, not random people.

If you go there - try not to look prosperous.

It's not dangerous, you'll have a blast. You'll learn where to go, who to talk to and how as you go. I was even friends with drug lords and didn't even know it, they're all nice guys if you're out of their business. But most people are normal citizens.

Not anymore dangerous than Moscow, Paris, London or any other big city. Very busy place, traffic is horrible. However, it will be a great experience for you, friendly people, lively clubs, good restaurants. Work on your Spanish.

Not really just used common sense. Robberies is above average because so take extra precaution and u will be OK. If u move here u will love it culture, it is a blend of all the different cultures of Mexico because almost everyone living here comes from other part of Mexico.
