Best Mexican Vacation?? |
Where in Mexico would you recommend we go for a honeymoon? Where have you been and what did you like? 10 points best answer! Depend on your interest and how much you want to spent: It very much depends on what you are looking for in a vacation spot. I personally have not been to many of the well-known beach resort areas and thus cannot advise you very much in regards to that if sun n' fun is all that you're seeking. However, there are other options too if you want to see some culture. Mexico City is a massive metropolis with a myriad of cultural sites within or around if for you to explore. The National Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral, Archaeology Museum, and Palace of Fine Arts are all quite impressive. Outstide Mexico City are the massive ancient Teotihuacan Pyramids that you are free to climb. However, do take some caution as to your safety when in Mexico City. Two hours south of the capital is Cuernavaca, a medium sized city that has a nice downtown "Zocalo" area and a quite pleasant Garden named the "Jardin Borda" as well as waterparks a-plenty. The climate is famously pleasant as well! In southern Mexico you can visit the city of Oaxaca in the state with the same name, where you can explore a large Cathedral and stroll along a beautiful pedestrian walkway in the city centre. You can also take tours up into the surrounding mountains with beautiful scenic views, and visit nearby ancient ruins such as Monte Alban and Mitla. Guadalajara is in southwest Mexico and is the country's second largest city where you can find plenty of entertainment venues and see downtown historical areas such as Plaza Tapatia, Teatro Degollado, and other colonial buildings. Again, waterparks are not hard to find in and around the metropolitan area. Nearby Tlaquepaque has many shops and restaurants to cruise around and you can even hire the Mariachis to sing for you! LOL. The state of Colima, also in southwestern Mexico, has some good Pacific ocean beaches--the only ones I have been to in Mexico--and have what I personally think to be an advantage in that they are NOT overrun with foreign tourists. If the two of you would like to go somewhere a little less "been there done that" than the average honeymooning "estadounidense", you may enjoy not being surrounded by fellow vacationers. If you are on your honeymoon, every now and then you just might want to stop worrying about rushing around to "do stuff" and simply enjoy each other's company in a pleasant atmosphere --like stolling the central plaza on a cool evening or getting dinner at a restaurant with live music. |
