Ixtapa Mexico are there any other options for airports or only to ZIH ixtapa airport?

Does anyone know how far acapulco or puerto vallarta would be to ixtapa? Flights seem a bit high to ixtapa and I was wondering about flying into a different destination and get a tranfer to the hotel to reduce cost? any advice would help

Vallarta is way to far. Acapulco would be a better choice. It's on the same state

Yes, I have done it before.You can often get a less expensive flight to (ACA) the Acapulco airport.From there you can catch a bus to Zihuatanejo for less than $10US. It is pleasant 4 hour+/-ride.
The buses run frequently during the day.Acapulco has three different bus stations,the buses to Zihua leave and arrive from the Estrella de Oro(Gold Star)station on Cuauhtemoc at Masslu...If you have any other questions email me.
