Regulations for bringing a dog into Colombia from the US?

I'm planning on moving to Colombia later this year. I will be bringing my dog with me. What are the regulations for doing this? Will she have to be put in quarrantine at the airport? If yes, for how long? Is there any special paperwork I will need to submit or fill out before going?

The hardest part will be to get an airline to take your dog. I wanted to bring my cat to Colombia but I called Continental, Delta and American and was told: no go on the transport. I did not call Avianca or Copa. (I dont know any other airlines that go direct (or semi direct) from the US to Colombia. There is a quarantine and there is some paperwork you have to show from your vet. My suggestion (I know youll hate it) Leave your dog with friends and get another one in Colombia. Ive been told its even harder to get your animal back to the US.

u know u can just put a small dog on the air plain with u and or u can put it wereu put ur carry on but if it is a real big dog u will have to idk how long u might need a passport sorry
