Scuba diving in Belize?

Hi

We are seeking for advice for a good place to learn scuba diving in Belize.
We are experimented 'snorklers' ( = novice scuba divers) and we are planning to get our licenses soon, Any advices or shared experience are welcome.

San Pedro Town on Ambergris Cay Belize is where you want to go.There are several dive shops to choose from. You can get certified there if you are not already. Some of the best diving in the world is right there. Mexico Rocks is one of my favorite dive spots... Just fly into Belize City and take the water taxi to the Cay....have fun

Belize is one of the best places in the world for scuba,
You will find, all types and sorts of schools,diving shops, teachers, etc
My favorite place to use as base is Placensia Peninsula, small town (population 400), you can have hotel rooms from US$40 to US$3,000 at Francis F Coppola Turtle Inn.
There are 6 flights a day from Belize City to Placensia.
There you can go to Roberts Groove Marina, and take lessons under PADI certification, or go to the many shops downtown Placensia,
