More expensive? |
Which country is more expensive to travel right now? My choices are Chile or Argentina and I can only go to one. Thanks. Well, it's a pity you can only go to one as both are excellent choices. However, moneywise, Argentina is much, much cheaper then Chile right now. Chile has a stronger economy and therefore the Peso (their currency) is quite strong vs the dollar. Argentina suffered a great depression about 15 years ago and it has slowly recovered. However, Argentina is much cheaper and it is also bigger then Chile and has los of places you can go like Mendoza, Cordoba or Patagonia apart from Buenos Aires. Food is great there, and prices at restaurants are low compared to Chile's. Please disregard the first post - Argentina's economy has sustained a robust recovery following the severe 2001/2002 economic crisis, which is less than 15 years ago. The peso recovered slightly and has held steady at about 3 to the US dollar which is still excellent for visitors like you, a level that makes Argentina's products (and Argentina as a travel destination) much more attractive to the rest of the world. Thanks to Argentina鈥檚 new economic reality, tourism has flourished greatly. Tourists come from all over the world to visit the country. Whether they are interested in wine or exceptional architecture or maybe some skiing, Argentina has everything to offer. Chile also offers many places and things to see, however your dollar will go farther in Argentina. If you do go there visit Avenida Florida and Avenida Santa Fe in Buenos Aires for some excellent shopping, Iguazu falls, which borders Brazil for an unforgettable waterfall experience and visit Puerto Madero for dining, a strip of restaurants on the river. i think argentina is most expensive from what i've heard, |
