Where should I work in Italy?

I have the option to work in as an intern in Italy that is being arranged through my university and I was curious where would be a good area in Italy to work and learn italian? I realize that there are lots of places to go in Italy so I'll narrow it down a little bit. I would want somewhere that is big on business but is also a nice area to live in. I'd also like a place that provides a good opportunity to learn italian that doesn't deviate too far from standard Italian. I've heard that Milan is a huge business capital but is it generally a nice place to live? Is it a good area to learn Italian? If anyone could fill me in I'd really appreciate it.

About the language, in northern Italy down till Tuscany is where standard Italian is more easily spoken; in southern you're going to find more people talking local dialect in everyday life; everybody know Italian, of course, but if you're worried by this point of view, you should narrow your choice to Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Emilia Romagna and Tuscany.

Milan is "a very industrial city", even if full of history like every city or town in Italy; but compared to other ones is very chaotic.
There's a lot of opportunity in Milan, but would not be my first choice for a living; Turin seems to be a more livable city.
Honestly, the best should be living in small city (Siena, Biella, Novara, Mantova, etc which are high ranked for quality of life) or in a town. You're anyway close to main cities.

I would suggest Milano or Torino.
