A vanished lake in Umbria, Italy?

My mom said she watched a show in the Travel Channel about 3 weeks about a vanished lake (unknown name to her) that was in Umbria (Italy) and the cause of it could have been an underground cave. Does anyone know anything about this or has any links that I can visit to learn more about this?

The most recent vanished lake that I'm aware of was in Chile last March. There's a brief article along with descriptions of a couple of other similar events here: http://www.strangemag.com/recentaddition... and other descriptions with photos here: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/GlobalW... and http://luviaman.blogspot.com/2007/06/lak...

I'm not aware of a similar event here in the recent past.

Hi,
The only lake I know in Umbria is the Trasimeno lake and of course it still there. I live in Southern Tuscany, on the Umbrian border but never heard of any vanished lake. This does not mean that it cannot have existed in the past. You may go on google and search about Umbrian lakes. If you find it let me know, I would be happy learn something I do not know.

Maybe you're talking about lake Fucino, a drained lake in central Italy.
Here's the wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fucine_Lake
