Are most Irish people shorter?

My dad's an irish citizen, and he's 6ft. Seems like most irish men are pretty short(ok, aside from conan obrian lol).

I'm Irish, and I'm 6'1". Of course I'm also Dutch. The Netherlands has the tallest average of Men.

Not always, no. My dad is irish and he is 6'2. My mom on the other hand is only 5'1, and so am I.

I've noticed they are either tall and lanky, or short and solid.

No, all of my 7 Irish uncles were between 5'11 and 6'3". Like anyone it depends on genetics.

I don't know about that. I work in the airport and I see a lot of Irish people. They're usually very nice and mostly always drunk..........go figure (?)

No, not so much. I am 5'10 and my brother is 6'4". Irish/ German. We've got the fair skin and freckles thing goin on though.

I doubt that your heritage has anything to do with shortness. Ever heard of genes? I live in America now, I'm of Irish descent, my wife is as well. My Great Grandfather (Irish) was 6-foot 8, my Great Grandmother (Irish) was 6-foot 6, I'm 5-foot 10, my two sons are 6-foot 8 and 6-foot 6. It's all in those swimmers.

Irish men are of average height on a world scale, they are on average taller than american men, the average height of an irish male is 176.1cm or 5ft 9.5in, in the USA its only 175cm or 5'9
