Is St Patricks Day going to be earlier this year?

I know March 17th is St Patricks Day but some people are saying it is going to be earlier this year.

It is still the 17th but the parades are going to be earlier on the 15th cos the 17th falls in the same week as holy week.

It's started already round here.

no its always on march 17th, i should know its my birthday on that day :)

not even irish lol

Are they on drugs, how can it be early when it`s 17th March every year

Saint's days are set days.

It is always 17th March. It's the pubs and bars that would like it to always fall on a Friday or Saturday!

Thatd be awesome! I love st.patty`s day!
Still havent caught a leprechaun, but im trying! lol jkjk

Hey, go to my question "Who likes my comic?". I`m trying to get some fans.

Officially..its has been moved to the 15th, its because Good Friday is the same week, and least we forget St Patricks is supposed to be a religious festival.

But the people who orgainised the parades etc didn't realise this, so all the festivities are still going ahead on the 17th. And we still get our bank holiday on the Monday. (short week, off the Monday and the Friday)

Basically we're having 2 St Paddys day this year, how good is that? so to say its always on the 17th is incorrect, because its the second time its been officially moved in 100 years.

So you are right, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I think the only effect moving the day will have on the good citizens of Ireland is now we officially don't have to attend mass on the Monday, because we're all supposed to go on the Saturday.

according to my irish friends, it has been moved forward. but then what would i know im just a dumb englishman lol

It's been moved to the 15th because the 17th is the Monday of Easter week

No. Monday March 17th as always Only 30 more practice drinking sessions left hehehehe. Sl谩inte!

think Elizabeth has it right hun

No. I think it is 17th of March.

ur havin a laff aren't you? either that, or you're english. 17th March, same every year, never moves.

lol i laughed when somebody said that to me a few weeks ago!!! But whats happening is that the parades will be on the 15th but St.Patricks day itself is still on the 17th!!!
So basically we get 2 paddy's days
