Name of event in Ireland where they throw a rock between two towns? |
Hi, It's called Road Bowls. The 'rock' as you call it is known as a 'bullet' as it was based on the bullets fired by infantrymen way back when. It's not an annual event but a series of competitions that take part in County Armagh. I think they also play it in County Cork. This is an ancient game still played in County Cork and Antrim in Ireland. The official name for it Road Bowling but it is more commonly called 'Bowls' - rhyming with 'howls'.
