Why does India make a big deal out of Sania Mirza but not Indian actresses?

I'm indian so i know where they're coming from, revealing clothes is definately not in our culture...but
sania mirza- her clothes cover her modestly (as modest as a tennis player can get) but india's been FUSSING over her
then, you have actresses like bipasha basu and deepika padukone who are supposed to be like old indian actresses but they reveal way more than mirza does...search deepika padukone in google and see what comes up! shes almost showin all of her body.

why does india condemn the person who has to wear the clothes she does but praise the actresses that wear the clothes they're not supposed to?

I'll say that I have to agree with you..
Them perverts will enjoy watching these womens like deepika and bipasha shamlessly displaying their bodies..but will have a hard time accepting sania in a short skirt..I believe the reason is because sania is known internationally..and people from India will not appreciate it if people from other countries look at an Indian girl dressed in shorts etc..and because bollywood actresses are only limited to the Indian audience it would seem ok..
This one incident, that happened a year or two ago..when Richard gere kissed Shilpa on the cheeks..and i'm sure you're aware of the controversies that surrounded this issue..yet, when rani mukherjee chooses to kiss Amibath bachan on his lips (Movie: Black), it doesn't seem like a big deal...People went on protest stating that Gere had attacked the indian heritage/culture..yet, where goes the indian heritage when India has the highest infection rate when it comes to HIV/AIDS..?
