Is pot legal in germany?

Is pot legal in germany?

NO it is not legal in most cases or places in the normal sense.

I will give you an example. Germany has it's Regions as we do states, they have Bavaria, Thuringia, and many others. The laws for Marijuana vary from each of these areas. Example I know going to Thurngia you cannot buy it, sell it or grow it but you can possess up to 3 grams or something like that on you. The only way to do that would be to go to the Netherlands which does border Germany buy it there and return to Germany. BUT you may go though a province where even possession is illegal so you would have to be careful.

One thing I noted is most that do smoke use tobacco and make what we call spliffs here.

Anyways you can check further laws and rules I am sure by going to the website for that region! Or asking the locals the law.

I do not suggest you attempt buying it from a stranger, if it is that important to you, go to the Netherlands! There are so many better things to see and do in Germany than smoke pot.

stick to Amsterdam.

no, pot is ileagal in germany even tho alot o the time ppl try and succeed but i wouldnt take a chance P.S. happy smoking! :)

no its not, but they dont care as much as they do in the US, but that doesnt mean go and walk the streets of germany with a blunt

Pot is illegal - but some states - such as Hamburg - do not punish users.

NO, it isn't. While legislations vary from state to state (more liberal in Hamburg and Berlin, very restrictive in Bavaria) the amount you may have with you varies between two and thirty-five grams. But carrying pot with you is a criminal offense, and when you're not German with a known home address, you might spend quite an uncomfortable night in jail, as happened to a female friend of mine who was from the British Isles. They released ME, but kept HER. I felt quite sorry, but couldn't do anything about it.

Its decriminalized, but not legal. Kind of like in New York State. The police aren't as uptight in Germany as in the US, so if you are staying out of trouble and mind your own business you will be left alone.
