My German friend's Bastian. What does the German word " Bastian " mean ? Hey!! one of my husbands students name is Bastian...we call him Basti for short...its a dervitive of Sebastian and its also Greek Are you sure "Bastian" isn't just short for the more common name Sebastian? Bastian is an abridgement of Sebastian. The name is of greek origin and means the honourable. I agree with previous answers.....Bastian is the short version for the name Sebastian Bastian is short for the first name sebastian. the word is actually pronounced "Bastion", which is a fortress; stronghold; or castle. I am guessing that when your friend said he is "Bastion", he meant 'he is a bastion', which would refer to a family notorious in WWII. |
