French Fashion?

Hello! I am going to france soon, and since I don't want to stick out like some tacky tourist, I was wondering about french fashion. Not like, couture, but just the colors and styles that people wear on the street and in normal life.

It depends on your age group. In Paris, teenagers and young adults wear pretty much the same things as in the US, but no sneakers. People who are older than these categories usually dress more nicely than people from the US -- almost like business casual. My French friend (38 years old) sometimes wears very dark denim jeans with dress shirts or sweaters and nice loafers. I'm not sure if the dress code is different outside of Paris.

As long as you don't wear tennis shoes, ratty jeans and carry everything you own in a butt bag, you shouldn't scream tacky tourist....pick up some issues of Paris Match to get ideas, and maybe plan on doing your shopping once you get there

I LOVE FRANCE!!!!!! It really depends on what city you're going into. Paris= Black, boots with thin heels, and kind of like that hat you're wearing in your avatar.

The same clothes than in America...People doesn't really care about fashion here. Only the rich and people who actually work on fashion care.
