How would I get from Paris, France to Bordeaux, France? |
I am going to France next week and would like to go to Bordeaux for a day. How would I get there? Is Bordeaux better than Champagne, France? I figure to take the train. But which one? Where? How much? Yes, the Bordeaux region is more attractive than the Champagne (weather, landscapes) but as Rillifane said it is a bit far for a day trip. If you are looking for a wine region not too far from Paris, Burgundy is a better compromise: very very lovely place and closer than Bordeaux. You could take a train to one of my favorite towns in France: Beaune. It is a 2hr07 trip and can cost as little as 22 euros. There is a 6:58 train on weekdays. train? Trains leave from the Gare Montparnasse to Bordeaux several times a day. The trip takes a bit over three hours and costs as little as about 45 euros. Given the travel time, Bordeaux is not a smart choice for a daytrip. there is only one train company in france so you won't have choice sncf.com you'll find the timetable and fares. |
