Any tips for traveling to France and Spain?

It's a 12 day trip!

Learn some French before you go, the French really appreciate it and service standard goes up because of it. Many speak English but will not use it, unless they think they are about to lose custom.

If you are going to tourist areas of Spain you'll find English widely spoken.

As already said 12 days for France and Spain is not enough. Paris alone would justify a week. So don't try and do too much, decide on what you really want to see and stick to it.

SEVILLA, SEVILLA, SEVILLA!!! GO IF YOU CAN!

I traveled Barcelona- Madrid - Marbella. And I recommend all of them. The best is Madrid. Beautiful city with lots to do and see!

That is a tour- I would copy some of their stations, doing it on your own- that is a great tour!

Beware of pickpockets- ther'e everywhere!!!

You want a sample itinerary? 12 days is NOT enough!

You could easily spend a whole week in Paris and not even scratch the surface!

If you REALLY must do it that way...

Four days for Paris is an absolute minimum. Fly into Paris, then do a day in the Loire Valley, and a day or two at Carcassonne, and the southern coast of France.
Then to Barcelona: two or three days is a minimum there. Then fly to Seville for two days and fly out home. You don't even have enough time to STOP in Madrid and you need at LEAST a week there. Yikes!!! Can't you spare a little more?

I would do only one country and then save the other country for another trip.

I just spent a month in Spain, and only got the southern half MOSTLY done. Planning a month in France next year. Hoping to get it all done, but I don't know...may have to return there as well.
