Are Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks Still Sore At Each Other? |
After each country was part of Yugoslavia, they broke apart rather violently. One Croatian guy I knew said he really hated Serbs and described things during the Kosovo War. It was so sad that he held on to such hatred after so long. You've probably had psychology at school and have heard of the "narcissism of small differences", a term by Sigmund Freud which describes the manner in which our negative feelings are sometimes directed at people who resemble us, while we take pride from the "small differences" that distinguish us from them. mee tell yu same agen for same question: Every where are groups of people who hate between self,. Unfortinetily that will never over, hate is like wave, when wive is little there is peace and cover hate, when wive of hate is big, start war. I think it so depends on the person/country (or even town/area) & faction that you ask. I can only speak from what I know in Bosnia (husband's Bosniak family) and it is very peaceful and in the Bosnian federation people can live and work along side one another in relative peace and quiet..... however I am sure that others will disagree! Goxy is right... the hatred is keeping the pain away. Yes. Why? Well, it is complicated. But from what i read and understand ("behind the lines and between them"), Serbia always did its best, thoughout history, to maintain a united multy ethnic state, while extreme Croats (who may be most of them) did everything in order to have a state of their own, in which Serbs would be ill treated (as they are indeed). At the same time, Islamic extremists in BiH, led by leading figures of Mladi Muslimani (who collaborated with Nazi Germany, despite any propaganda they may stage to "prove" that it's "not true"). did everything in order to have a fundamentalist Islamic state in the heart of Europe, which they did with the help of Saudi Arabia and the rulling clases in the US. This the latter did in order to develop friendly relationship with the Islamist, while sacrificing Serbia. This is the sad reality. Oh....we are so happy with etch other... |
