Brother and his girlfriend are still waiting on their Canadian visa??? why the wait???

yeah, my brother is canadian but is working in australia and his girlfriend is from new zealand. they want to return to canada. they met in canada when she was on vacation with her friends for 3 weeks. my brother moved to australia 2 yrs. ago and has been working there, but his g/f had to return to new zealand and has been working there. they have lived together for only about a month. they have a long-distance relationship. now they want to live together, but in canada. so far no word or approval for her visa. any idea why? i am starting to wonder this girl might have a criminal record or something. why the wait?

my brother is canadian, but his girlfriend is not. she is a new zealander. i think the problem is that they are not married and have not lived together long enough to be common law. they have only lived together for a total of one month. they have visited each other for years and have been in a long-distance relationship. i don't know why he doesn't marry her. if they want a life together, then they should marry. maybe it might look strange to do it now though because they are under scrutiny. i don't really like his g/f. she has been working as a beach volleyball instructor and before that she was a server and bartender. my brother has a job but hasn't got a job lined up in canada. of course the g/f has nothing lined up either. she hopes to work as a life gaurd or in the hospitality industry. perhaps she doesn't have desirable qualifications for immigration. i my bro should dump her. she isn't nice.

IT takes a long time to immigrate,if your brother isn't working then he can not sponsor her............he must prove he can support her ,she can not go on any Canadian benefit for 5 years
when i came to canada i was not married to my canadian man, i just extended my tourist visa every six months from within canada until my immigration went through

Because He left Canada it is harder to get back in. A girl friend is not a relative. The according to government types and I am not one. He should of made sure he was a citizen before he left and a girl friend is not a relation. They have to be married. In the last twelve months Canada changed and tightened up the immigration laws.
